The State of Being Wireless March 26th, 2011

At this point, we're so used to having mobile wireless devices for our routine uses that we can forget how extraordinary this mobility really is, how it can come through for us when we really need it. Mobility came to the rescue for me recently. Due to unforeseen and unavoidable events, suffice it to say that I may have lost an important client if it hadn't been for having wireless devices. Having a couple of the best apps for android that I had recently installed helped make the difference, as well. My colleague had been looking through the Sunday Times best apps, and passed along some suggestions for me to check out. I found a couple of things that could help me access and store information that proved valuable. As much as it sometimes seems that our lives are almost overrun by devices that can go anywhere with us, a time like this, when wireless mobility saved me from a work disaster, made me appreciate anew this remarkable technology. I'm sure I'll still have times when it feels like this same remarkable technology is infiltrating my life too much. After all, how we fell about something depends on the context of the moment. In that perspective, it is simply the case that something can sometimes be a life-saver, and other times a bit of a burden. That's life, even in the wireless age!
