Wireless energy
Imagine a future where you did not need to plug in your phone, MP3 player, laptop computer, and other portable devices. Wireless power transfer would ensure that your devices are properly primed for use.

Here, in the adjacent picture is a group of scientists who have demonstrated that wireless power is possible. The six scientists are sitting/standing between the two coils that demonstrated this possibility.

The coil on the left emits a wireless energy which is picked up by the coil on the right of the picture (the scientists are between the two coils). The coil on the right has a light globe which is powered by the energy emitted from the coil on the left.

This technology is not yet ready for commercial distribution, but it is something to look for in the coming months/years. To have the wireless office without all the spaghetti will be welcomed.

From "Tesla's Genius -- Wireless energy being developed over a 100 years after he said it could be done (and wanted financing to provide it free globally)" in the blog "Weazl's Revenge".
