Want a laugh? Turn you old monitor into a fishtank

So you want something everyone will look at? A fish tank computer monitor?

Instructables has a set of instructions, just eleven steps, to turn your old monitor into a fish tank. I can just picture this on my home office desk - something everyone visiting is going to have a good laugh about.

Talk about the ultimate screen saver - yes, it saves the screen all right!

However, this project is not without its problems. Working with an old CRT tube can be positively dangerous. It could implode as you try to take it from its plastic chamber, or the capacitors can hold a residual charge for a long time, and discharging that could leave you in a shocking state.

If you are going to attempt this project, it is worthwhile considering how you are going to handle the old CRT monitor. You may want a professional to pull it apart and give you back the plastic surrounds that you actually want for this project.
