Do you have hungry power sucking accessories on your desktop that are alive whether or not your computer is on or off, say, a lamp, printer, and any other power sucking devices. There is an answer to this problem, called the USB Ecostrip Power Adaptor.
The Ecostrip Power Adaptor plugs into your computer via a USB connection and a nearby electrical outlet. You can power your accessories on your desktop via the Ecostrip. The idea is that when you turn your computer off, the Ecostrip also turns any devices plugged into it off as well this saving power when your computer is off.
The Ecostrip is available in Europe and soon to be available in the USA. There is no indication when it might be available in other parts of the world.
