Twitter: Great for Liveblogging

A few days ago I wrote a piece on how Twitter is fast becoming the next big addiction. Embraced by early adopters, Twitter links

finds its way to the hearts of those who are in need of attention, are conserving SMS credits or those who find the need to do liveblogging.

I'm always live on Twitter via GMail chat on the Blackberry, and I can't seem to shake the feeling that I SHOULD be online at all times, wanting everyone to know what I'm doing - even if they are just sound bites. Yes, I had a deprived childhood. So humor me for a bit.

Nonetheless, Twitter has become a fast rising communication tool as it is an in between to the instant gratification of blogging and the sobriety of SMS, two great ways to keep people informed.

Personally, I don't have the time, but if I did I would be on there too. But plans by the executive producer of a new Fox TV series to Twitter updates during the premier of ”Drive” may be the first such use of the channel by a mainstream media outlet.
