Ticketed for talking on cellphone June 6th, 2008

We all know that what typically happens in California will soon spread east across the US. Time to look out and get ready for the push to ban talking on cellphones while driving. Starting July 1, 2008 you can be ticketed with a Driving While Talking (DWT).
Fortunately you will only be ticketed if you plan on using your cellphone in-hand. Police will allow you, if 18 or older, to talk hands-free with a wired or wireless headset or on a speakerphone. I know this can be a challenge as we have all grown up holding our phones. But for the wireless enthusiast this is just another reason to go out and buy a new gadget. It'll probably pay for itself if you would have been ticketed.
Read about it in the LA Times.
