Tired of searching blogs only to find out that the results of your search has recommended blogs with junk?

One of the best blog search tools is actually just a little difficult to find. You have possibly visited Technorati multiple times and used the search tool on that first home page. Well, Technorati's best search tool is not available on the home page.

To get the best Technorati search you will need to visit http://search.technorati.com. Now to get the best results, you need to enter your search query into the available box and then this next step is absolutely critical to getting the best results. The drop-down list labeled "authority" needs to be dropped and you need to select the option "a lot" so that your results only come from blogs with greater authority.

Of course you could also use Google's Blogsearch tool. You can get good results from this search tool but it can be variable according to how well you designed your search query. I find that the best results can be obtained by asking for exact matches - this is achieved by placing quotation marks around your query.

Another tool that is quite good is Feedster. To get the best results from Feedster you need to choose the "blogs" option rather than searching "all feeds". You will see these options directly below the query window in the top right hand side of the page.

You might also try Blogdigger; it offers good sites and seems to be free from a lot of the junk you get in other searches. However, Blogdigger can be annoyingly slow at times. You can also get better results by selecting the option "sorting by relevance" rather than by date.

Then, lastly, you might try IceRocket. IceRocket enables you to search blogs by date which is quite accurate most of the time. So if you want to know if there is anyone posting a subject you are posting you can go here and search for those posts on the same topic as yours.

These are the best ones I use all the time. AND don't just search with one tool because each of these tools give you a little bit of a different list of search results.
