Soon you will get rid of wire-spaghetti in your office July 23rd, 2007

Wireless Design Online reports that new research in the Georgia Institute of Technology could soon make that tangle of wires under your desk a thing of the past.
Scientists at Georgia Tech in atlanta georgia are investigating the use of extremely high radio frequencies (RF) to achieve very broad bandwidth that makes it possible to achieve extremely high data transmission rates over short distances.
It may be possible to transfer a whole DVD across such connections within 5 seconds making this ideal to connect between a computer and a data center, like a hard drive.
Connections between your computer and its hard drive, monitor, and any other peripherals maybe possible by transmission through a high level transmission system at far higher rates than through a wired connection.
If these very high frequency transmission systems are able to work in this way, you may not need wires under your desk to connect between your computer and its peripherals. AND as we may soon have wireless power to your computer and its peripherals we may see within the next 5 years the possibility of having a truly wireless office.
