Thanks to Lifehacker my attention was drawn to software that can enable you to control your home/office computer from anywhere. Let say you want to access a spreadsheet that is stored and maintained on your home/office computer, but you are elsewhere and need immediate access to that spreadsheet, well here is the software you need.

ShowMyPC.com is in direct competition with alternative programs Webex or GoToMyPC. However, ShowMyPC is an open source competitor making it more easily maintainable and free. The software is free, but you are requested to make a donation if you find this software exactly what you need.
