NXP and the Ultra Small USB
Filed in archive News by Jayvee Fernandez on February 28, 2007
Because mobile phones are getting slimmer and smaller, mini USB ports that connect phones to computers also have to catch up. There is a new standard port being developed for these small devices measuring a mere 2.2 x 2.25 x 0.6 mm. Sooner or later we will be needing a dual USB port cable to fit the standard mini USB hub as well as these micro USB ports.

The technology called Low-Pin Interface (ULPI) is being developed by NXP, a Philips subsidiary.
