Arriving in this "post-PC era" what are you going to choose as your phone/computer? Will you purchase an iPhone or will you opt for a smartphone made by nokia, such as the Nokia E61i?
First hand knowledge is what is needed here. What are the reports of people who have a Nokia E61i and who have also handled an iPhone?
Carl Howe of Blackfriars' Marketing posted an article "Nokia E61i update: getting WiFi networks to work properly" indicating that getting the Nokia E61i to work as advertised was a mammoth effort. Compared with the iPhone the Nokia E61i was difficult to setup and use.
However it may be that the Nokia is harder to setup, but it maybe that the Nokia E61i may have more features. What I do find, though, from a personal standpoint is that having actual keys to use on the Nokia is preferable. And from the perspective of reviews of the Nokia E61i, it would seem to be a better "mobile office" phone than the iPhone. The iPhone would seem to be more of a personal non-work tool, better for teens and adults to do personal things, like listening to music etc.
So while the Nokia E61i might be slightly more difficult to setup, I think I would still be picking the Nokia E61i over the iPhone. This is my choice of phone/computer for the onset of the post-PC era.
