As pointed out by Scott's Rosenberg's Wordyard, Rupert Murdoch has made a credible bid to acquire dow jones which publishes the Wall Street Journal. According to Rupert he feels that News Limited and Dow Jones comes from a similar background and that they all can get together and make a positive contribution to both Dow Jones and News Limited.

Of course Australian's everywhere are fascinated to see what Rupert, our own flesh and blood from Australia, can actually do. He has set a very high agenda for himself worldwide with his moves into China and now lifting American publishing icon Wall Street Journal.

You are perhaps wondering what "Tech Without Wires" is doing talking about the really big end of business? Rupert is a fascinating person and has a lot to say about being successful. It is worth all of us putting tools down for a few minutes to read and understand quotes from the big man . . .

In motivating people, you've got to engage their minds and their hearts. I motivate people, I hope, by example – and perhaps by excitement, by having productive ideas to make others feel involved. — Rupert Murdoch

The world is changing very fast. Big will not beat small anymore. It will be the fast beating the slow. — Rupert Murdoch

There is so much media now with the Internet and people, and so easy and so cheap to start a newspaper or start a magazine, there's just millions of voices and people want to be heard. — Rupert Murdoch

So you don't need to be big to win, just fast. Think on that. How can you build your business . . . fast? What will it take? Certainly one of the ingredients in being fast is being wireless and always connected.
