Online Services

At WWDC 2008, Steve Jobs presents MobileMe, the successor to the USD99 dotMac service from Apple, as "Exchange for the rest of us". What MobileMe brings is the entire dotMac services, sans iCards, dotMac slideshows and bookmarks, but adds the capability to do OTA sync of Macs, including iPods and iPhones and a larger iDisk storage space.
Personally, this makes it easier for me to sync addressbook contacts, calendar entries, email, photos and even bookmarks between my Macs and iPhone. I asked Apple during the WWDC press briefing if the service is supported even on EDGE and was told that it does work OTA on EDGE - so, 3G is not required.
MobileMe is a free upgrade for current dotMac subscribers but will cost USD99 for new subscribers.
