Wireless

With the failure of municipal wi-fi projects it seems like WiMax is set to upstage the idea of wi-fi hotspots.

Sprint is building a new infrastructure and standard for connecting to the Internet. WiMax may just send wi-fi hotspots into the never-never-land just the same way as Flooz hit the dust and we no longer have BetaMax video recording systems.
Backed by Intel, Motorola, and Samsung, the network Sprint is setting up promises to provide broadband-speed wireless connectivity to the entire nation, cutting out the need for finding Wi-Fi hotspots and setting up routers.
So move over wi-fi hotspots, WiMax is coming. After all it has been a little tricky finding hotspots that one can use without spending a huge amount of money. I welcome the idea of WiMax.
