Is Microblogging Useful?
Since the arrival of Twitter and Jaiku we have seen a whole lot of micro-detail posted. Does all this micro-detail actually have a use?

David Weinburger seems to think there is a use for microblogs. See his review of people he knows with whom he catches up on a microblog.

If you Twitter or Jaiku, then let your customers and potential customers know. Many potential customers don't want to do business with people online until they see something real happening. So to make your world of sales and marketing real, why not Twitter or Jaiku those little details that all go together to make something much more real than the individual posts on a big blog.

Why not microblog about the presentations you are doing today, the number of potential customers you are seeing, talking to, blogging etc. All this detail gives you more credibility, particularly if you do not have a business office where potential customers can come and see you.

Twitter a little more to show that you are a real business doing real presentations, live in a company near you. . .
