We all know that the iPhone can play videos, either bought or rented from iTunes, ripped from DVDs or streamed from YouTube. However, the iPhone video-playback support is very limited to only the format that Apple prefers... but not anymore! :) First off, VLC, the popular, open source, media player is now available on the iPhone, thanks to zodttd. This opens up a wide array of video formats to play on your iPhone. How cool is that? No need to re-encode those DiVX files! he-he-he
In addition to VLC, SlingMedia also announced the impending release of the SlingPlayer for the iPhone, as reported by Gizmodo.
