How to watch TV on iPhone   June 14th, 2008

We all know that the iPhone can play videos, either bought or rented from iTunes, ripped from DVDs or streamed from YouTube. However, the iPhone video-playback support is very limited to only the format that Apple prefers… but not anymore! :) First off, VLC, the popular, open source, media player is now available on the iPhone, thanks to zodttd. This opens up a wide array of video formats to play on your iPhone. How cool is that? No need to re-encode those DiVX files! he-he-he

In addition to VLC, SlingMedia also announced the impending release of the SlingPlayer for the iPhone, as reported by Gizmodo.
