Home office blues April 27th, 2007

So how does your office fare in obtaining space from competing requirements in your home? Looks like consultant and fellow blogger Jeff Kee from Jeff Kee Consulting is challenged in fighting for space at home. Not too far from my own limited space (pictured).
What about your home office? Have you squeezed the impossible into a small space. As for me I need several operating systems and various installations that is why my office desk looks like a computer porcupine.
Jeff Kee also talks about his wire spaghetti on the floor. He has problems, but you should see mine. Jeff dispells the myth that wire spaghetti is dangerous. He says in explanation:
Most office equipment (laptop, printer, light, speakers, headphones, external hard-drive) does not consume too many amperes of electricity, so it won't overload the circuit breaker or cause fire, which is contrary to what some people are afraid of. It's the heaters, stoves, ovens as well as vacumm (sic) cleaners that take up a lot of amperes and should be used with caution when using with other items plugged in.
I do not like Jeff's overhead lighting. I find it is better to have lighting directed to the area where it is needed. The lighting also needs to be low so that it does not glare into eyes.
