Happy Fourth of July

But in addition to wishing everyone a Happy Fourth of July, a discussion about how we write and say dates ensues. This is rather an intriguing discussion which covers why we tend to say "Fourth of July" but "December 25th". Why do we swap
these two around saying day and month in one and month and day in the other? Read Name Wire's article to see the whole argument and a reasoned response. For the other half of my readers who do not live in USA, it is just a courtesy to remember our United States cousins on this day. Anyway, whatever your day today, make it a happy one!
