As I see it, there are two types of healthy living options you can program yourself into. One involves enrolling into a gym while the other does not. Now as I'm getting older I noticed my metabolism isn't what it used to be and I'm gathering fat at a slow and un-alarming rate. Nonetheless I always hated the idea of a gym. Running through the treadmill like a hamster isn't my idea of fat burning fun.
Then I discovered how I could make best use of gym time and work time by synchronizing my podcast listening time with gym. For instance, my favorite show TWiT comes uploaded every Tuesday morning (GMT +8) so I ensure that gym time happens on a Tuesday afternoon. I am currently listening to 3 to 4 weekly shows from the general topics of technology, media and literature. I am able to maximize my "idle time" in the gym by listening to podcasts as I would rather listen to music when I'm driving or walking around the city.
