Now that we have the first Android device coming out this coming November, as reported by ReadWriteWeb, Google announced the soon to release Android Market.

With Android being open as compared to Apple's closed AppStore system, the market may be swamped with far more applications that those available on the AppStore. However, an open system is prone to having malicious applications being distributed "legally" via the Android Market, unlike the AppStore where the applications must pass some testing before release. So we could all wonder how Google will make sure that users get legit apps from the Marketplace.

With the release of the top 8 Android Developer Challenge winners, the Android Market sure shows signs of promise. I cannot wait to get my hands on the first Android handset. Now, if only my Google contacts can send me one as soon as the device becomes available. :)
