Google Linux June 17th, 2007

Searching images it is not difficult to find a "Google Linux" logo. It was not until I read the article "What the world needs now is Google Linux" that I realized that we have not got there yet. Inspite of the ready availability of "Google Linux Images" there really is not Google Linux as yet.
IF ANYONE CAN TAKE ON MICROSOFT it's Google. Both companies make squillions out of doing not much at all, which is the key to having your share price sit on top of the roof. And the latest battleground the pair are marking out centres on Linux, the open-sore on the hide of the Vole's cash cow.
I don't think we really need another Linux Distribution; there are already some 350 different flavors of Linux. What we do need is a large body with loads of headspace in its followers to ramp up a major Linux flavor for the masses to use.
Maybe Google should ramp-up with Canonical and make Google Ubuntu a reality. What Google can bring to the table is a huge distribution network. Google can also lend its huge translation capabilities for a world wide Ubuntu.
