Google takes another step towards direct competition with Microsoft. As has been predicted Google Docs and Spreadsheets gets a new cousin, a web-based presentation program dubbed Presently. Presently is pitted directly against microsoft powerpoint.

When Presently is running Google then provides five of the five office products most see as the bare minimum of office applications: email, calendar, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
And according to the pundits, Google is soon to release an off-line version of its key office suite programs. This will be achieved using the Google Gears product.
