Where Earthlink fails, Meraki may just succeed - this is to envelope the entire San Francisco with affordable wifi access.

Whilst wireless mesh technology is really awesome (see XO Laptop), I am curious as to how it can compete against the business model of Fon, another group trying to cover as wide an area as possible with their free/non-free services but on a voluntary basis.
