Firefox vs Internet Explorer: Why you should care

internet browsers have become one of the most important tools you run on your PC or laptop. As a person working out of your computer rather than being stuck in a 2 x 2 cubicle you need to know that you run the best browser for security purposes, and to run the best applications from across the internet.

I am not sure whose statistics are better but O'Reilley networks has statistics fro several years running and these statistics show that Firefox is gaining in popularity almost eclipsing the use of Internet Explorer.

Of course if you run a Linux flavor on your laptop or PC then Firefox is the only one you should consider, the other Linux flavored browsers are no where near the height of Firefox. And if you are a Mac OS user then Internet Explorer is out for you as well.

Overall, I have been using Firefox exclusively over the least two years, whether on my Windows machine or my Linux Ubuntu machines. I would recommend Firefox over and above Internet Explorer any day - it just works!

You should care because your overall security depends on the only software that stands between you and the rest of the Internet. The very nature of Firefox, being maintained by thousands of supporters makes Firefox very much more secure than internet Explorer.

If you can, with the support of your underlying operating system, I would suggest a move to Firefox would make your web browsing and use of online applications a far more satisfying and secure experience.
