Fergie tour to be sponsored by Verizon Wireless May 15th, 2007
Verizon Wireless is sponsoring the Fergie tour of the USA, but that is not all. There will be no paper ticketing as Verizon will be providing ticketing through sending an SMS to your mobile phone when you have purchased your ticket by phone, in-store or at special promotional kiosks.
This is not the first time an event has been sponsored by a mobile phone company, but it is perhaps the largest deal in sponsoring an entertainment show and providing the sole ticketing method by mobile phone.
What other products/services will a wireless/mobile company sell through their cellular services?
