How central is email to building your business? Did you know that over 80% of small business owners suggest that email is the key to the success of their business?

In "Email Right to Privacy – Why Small Businesses Care" Small Business Trends resports that email is integral to operating Small Businesses. Some people in small businesses check email 20 times a day, or about every half-hour.

More than 50% of business owners say they spend two to three hours checking and writing emails per day.

With emails being this important to our success we should spend a little time to ensure that the emails we send are effective and gets the job done. I know in my business all proposals are sent by email even to the point that a telephone call is simply used to check that the latest email has been spotted and that the receiver intends to reply shortly.

There is little question emailing is an integral part to small business operation; we just need to ensure that the emails we do send are effectively received and answered. This is up to the email writer making sure that the email is concise, to the point and requires action.
