Do you live near a free Wifi spot

Villers-sur-Mer, which is located in France is providing free wireless internet access to any visitor. Visitors need only apply for a free license and their in. The system uses Firetide wireless mesh nodes installed at various locations around the town.

Since I typically travel with a wireless AT&T card, I wondered how many free Wifi spots there were in my city. After doing a quick search on the Internet I found the following site ilovefreewifi.com that might help you in your search for free Wifi.

Unfortunately many of the grand plans of bringing free Wifi to the large scale, other than coffee shops, seems to have fadded over time. It's just too expensive, laden with technical problems, and most of all no real funding for the projects.

Guess I'll be keeping my wireless card.

They’re not all listed on the map. I know there’s more hot spots around here than they have on the map. Not many, but some.
