Dell to Sell Through Large Chain Stores May 26th, 2007
Dell have announced that DELL computers will be sold through indirect channels. What? Would you buy a DELL Computer through Wal-Mart, Retravision, or even Sainsbury's?
Dell had a go at indirect sales a few years ago. I predict that this indirect model will not last and will cost DELL a major position in selling hardware. I buy DELL because there are no slick marketing budgets, and just a good honest price for a "custom" made machine. What, am I going to get a custom built machine from a store? Doubt it.
