State of the art time of flight ranging functionalities with its new ground breaking time synchronized mesh networking has been incorporated by Dust. Time Synchronized Positioning Time-of-Flight or TSPT is the latest model of location sensing as it can locate an asset or position precisely within one to three meters either indoor or outdoors under the worst RF environments.
Real time location or RTLS requires fixed wireless infrastructure which is expensive to install but TSPT puts to use field tested time synchronized wireless mesh based infrastructure which uses harvested energy or batteries for operating for many years which leads to easy infrastructure deployment without causing any disturbance to the occupants or buildings. It does not use wires as every mote can run on harvested energy or batteries. It can be used in outdoor and indoor environments and does not need site inspection since the mesh connectivity and 802.15.4E is a self forming type of mesh infrastructure hops which can adapt to changes in the RF environment.
