Most mobile phone plans come with both a new mobile phone and a new SIM card. Getting two new deals can be more expensive than if you just bought a new SIM card only. If you want a new SIM card plan, but you are still happy with your current mobile phone, then it is possible to just change your SIM card only.
Compare SIM only deals and then choose the best plan to suit your needs. Usually SIM only contracts range from one month to twelve months in duration. Longer contracts tend to be cheaper in exchange for your extended commitment to a SIM only service. The mobile network will then provide you with a new plan after you sign a contract, while allowing you to keep your existing mobile phone. Your new SIM card can then be placed into your existing phone by removing your old one, and placing it into the relevant SIM compartment which can be different for each type of mobile phone.
