Wireless

To no one's surprise another municipal wifi project is on the back burner. Really we must ask, having seen yet another and another project on the back burner, do cities value Internet access just as much as water or electricity? It would seem not.
Well Boston wifi was such a good idea and to operate on a significantly different model than other municipal wifi projects.
So what is going wrong? Is the problem a business model problem? Or is it that wifi is just the wrong technology? In this latest delay from Boston the builders of the system suggest that significantly more hotspots are required in this project than at first planned. Maybe the technology is just the wrong technology for a large-scale network.
