Thinking of maybe installing Ubuntu to replace windows xp, or Vista?
Then there are at least 50 different things you need to know about Ubuntu and its adoption across the world. TechIQ has a five part article titled "50 Things You Need to Know About Ubuntu".
Ubuntu is quite seriously the operating system to use if you want to replace Windows Xp or even avoid Windows Vista. Ubuntu installs out of the box (as the saying goes - Ubuntu does not come in a box but off a distribution CD, Live CD or download directly from Ubuntu) extremely well supporting most hardware without you having to resort to any unusual measures.
With an installed base of about 12 million users, it is one of the fastest growing Linux distributions. It has earned its good name from the ease of which it can be installed and properly supporting all hardware on your machine.
Ubuntu has still a relatively small installed base compared with any Windows operating system, but it is one of the leading lights to watch and perhaps install.
